MERCHANT NAVY AFTER 10TH



Merchant navy opens the vast dimensions of job opportunities for youngsters and even 10th pass students. If you are thinking to choose this field as a career after 10th, then you are right. Basic Courses After 10th
  • Deck Rating course:
  • The first criteria for this course as well as for others the eyesight should be 6/6 without color blindness. This course runs for consecutive six months.
  • NCV Course:
  • Near Coastal Voyage course trains the candidates for the long term of 6 months and followed by 18 months of distance learning and 24 months of the offshore training program
  • GP Rating Course:
  • General Purpose (GP) Rating is a course of 6 months which focuses on the study and training of deck/engine roles and task.
  • Diploma in Marine Engineering:
  • However, the minimum qualification for opting diploma in marine engineering is a 12th pass, but some institutes offer this course for 10th pass candidates also. Diploma holders have a benefit of ‘lateral entry’ which means they can secure their admission in 2nd year of B.E./B.Tech (marine engineering program).
  • Engine rating:
  • For engine related knowledge and training this course is mandatory, and the candidate must be mentally, physically and socially fit if he/she is going for this course.

G.P. RATING General Purpose Rating is a six-month-long course for merchant navy. GP rating is characterized by the job roles in the deck or engine crew. It is pre-sea training includes two chief cadets- engine crew and deck crew.
