MARITIME TRAINING


The maritime industry is leading the world because 80% of global trade relies on this. The naval and merchant sector provides a cost-efficient, time and energy efficient mode of transportation. Merchant navy and shipping services are the main attributes of this sector. The maritime training aims to train and develop seafarers, merchant officers and skilled professionals for handling large vessels being used in international trade. 

In a broader perspective, maritime training generates the workforce for logistics, transportation, finance, policies, management, salvage, insurance, maintenance, ship operation and building, law, brokerage, etc. Merchant navy preparation is suitable for anyone who has passed 12th with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Math) group and is between the ages of 17 to 25 years. There is no bar of gender anyone can participate in the desired course or maritime stream. 

In India, there are several private and government colleges/institute as well as institutes which offer maritime training and proper education. There are special direct placement facilities in the universities, colleges, and institutes which depend on the organization.
